For the last couple years, people who live outside the United States have complained to me that my books are not made available in their countries. The reason the first two books, The Only Sales Guide You’ll Ever Need and The Lost Art of Closing: Winning the 10 Commitments That Drive Sales are unavailable is that the company that bought the audio rights only bought the rights to sell the book in the United States.

When you sell the rights to your book, your publisher sells the rights to translations and the audio books. As the author, you don’t have any control or influence on the process.

I have long argued that audio books are critical to salespeople, sales managers, sales leaders, and entrepreneurs, since they often find themselves in their car or on an airplane, and because they are success-oriented and focused on their personal and professional development, they want to leverage the time they spend commuting improving themselves.
